The master bedroom is a sublime and stylish sanctuary in which to relax. It has stunning views of the unspoilt village of Kirk Ireton and the surrounding Derbyshire countryside.
The centerpiece of this enchanting room is the magnificent, voluptuous six foot wide four poster bed. Created with original reclaimed timbers from the old lace market in Nottingham, and handcrafted in the nearby town of Matlock. It is simply stunning and high enough to need steps to help our guests climb in. Luxurious fabrics in the room combine with solid oak floor, atmospheric lighting, original paintings and thoughtful accessories . A warm and welcoming haven of tranquillity.
Adjoining the master bedrooms is the beautiful ensuite bathroom. With deep double bath, warm heated floor and huge bespoke shower cube. Fluffy towels, robes, slippers, soaps and scents await to help you relax and soak away the cares of a hectic life.
Beautiful cosy living space
An inviting warm and sunny room. This elegant living space has French Windows to the rear and a large deep-seated window, overlooking the village to the front.
A wealth of beautiful oak beams, original artwork, oak windowsills and warm subtle lighting blend with the honey colour of the floor. The sumptuous soft furnishings help to create a delightful cosy ambiance.
Lie back on the soft leather sofa to relax, watch your favourite TV programmes, or allow yourself to drift away with the dancing flames of the hand-crafted tunnel fire.
The natural stone tiles in the living room run through into the snug. A lovely versatile space, it is perfect as a cosy nook to snuggle down on the sofa to at the side of the stunning tunnel fire. Finish off that bestselling book, or set the dining table, light the candles in the candelabra and enjoy a romantic dinner.
The self catering kitchen is ,of course equipped with all modern appliances. Fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fresh coffee maker. We’ve provided plenty of elegant crockery, cutlery and utensils. The breakfast table with TV above is perfect for catching up with the news whilst you enjoy a leisurely lunch
Hot-tub, garden & den
The french windows in the living room lead directly onto the private terrace at the back of the cottage. With its gorgeous driftwood tables and seats, it seems to have been taken straight out of a fairy tale!
Wrap yourself in one of the warm fluffy bathrobes in the downstairs wet-room. Step down onto the sunken patio area and slip into the inviting Canadian Spa Hot-Tub. The hot bubbling water waiting to help you soak away the stresses and strains of modern living.
Here you will also find “The Den”. A warm and cosy Scandinavian style cabin, often used as a handy changing room for the tub, but so much more. With games, magazines and plenty of space to relax.
The tiny and welcoming nearby shop is happy to order meat from the local farm shop (a traditional working farm), perfect for cooking on the hand-crafted barbecue. The kitchen door opens onto the terrace so it’s easy to nip inside for extra ketchup!
The beautiful open front garden, with its low stone wall, beautiful plants, and immaculate lawn, commands excellent views of Kirk Ireton. The cottage has private parking of course, although the rather infrequent village bus stop is very close by for those eager to leave the car behind. Alternatively you can sit on the garden bench and watch village life unfold. If you feel like a break from the self catering aspect of your stay, the uniquely famous 17th Century pub ‘The Barley Mow‘ is nearby, just twenty yards down the hill.
